A program full of events with its main pivot in the parade that traces the centuries of history of the island of Ischia, from the first colony of Magna Graecia, through the main dominations that followed in the Kingdom of Naples, until the end of the 19th century.
The procession, made up of 400 participants, enriched by the sound of drummers and the scenery of the flag-wavers, who came from different parts of Italy, will leave as usual on August 26 at 6 p.m. from the Aragonese Wharf to reach the port.
This year there are several groups twinned with Ischia: Marino, which is renewing its 30-year association with the procession in the name of Vittoria Colonna; the Imperiales Federici II groups of Foggia and Centro Studi Nundinae of Gravina di Puglia for Norman and Swabian rule; the Ortisei folk group of Val Gardena; the flag-wavers of Cava dei Tirreni, the Pistonieri Monte Castello, the falconers of the Artis group, and the Knights of the White Parchment.
To pay tribute and tribute to all the people who have collaborated in the realization of the feast of St. Alexander with tenacity, proactive spirit, and dedication, and who, unfortunately, are no longer with us, a photo with Dr. Roberto Ielasi, who has impersonated the island’s fisherman for years by retracing traditions and evoking a time when the island relied its economy not yet on tourism, was chosen as the image for the events poster.
